Event Description: With Richard Notkin and Geo Lastomirsky co-instructors; This intensive weekend hands on workshop will focus on utilizing the teapot format to create sculptural forms and narrative imagery. The instructors will lead students on an intensive search for the "personal teapot". Each student will be encouraged to explore his or her deep personal passions to design two, three or more teapots utilizing thumbnail sketches and clay moquettes
Event Description: The Pottery Northwest February exhibition will be Clay & Politics: an invitational show organized by Richard Notkin. In conjunction with this exhibition, Notkin & Pottery Northwest will be hosting a Symposium on Saturday, February 10th, 12:00 – 6PM. It will feature an introduction and illustrated lecture by Richard Notkin as well as presentations and a discussion panel with several participating artists.
Join your fellow WCA members to attend an artist talk by Walter McConnell at the Bellevue Art Museum. After the talk, we will head over to the nearby Tavern Hall for drinks, shuffleboard and time with new and old clay artist friends.
Event Description: Gallery I | M | A is pleased to host an evening of Artist Talks with Ruth Borgenicht and Sam Chung! Each artist will speak for approximately 30 minutes, including time for questions. Light refreshments will be provided. RSVP if possible, although not required.
This event is concurrent with the two-person ceramics exhibition, "There Is No Beginning, There Is No End", featuring new works from Ruth Borgenicht and Sam Chung. The exhibition will be on display November 2 - December 2, 2017.

Jack Troy slide show / talk will focus on clay’s 20,000 year history and the art of the Tea Bowl. The panel discussion will focus on the NCECA theme of "Future Flux". "How can we continue to draw from rich historic traditions while reinvigorating their relevance in rapidly changing global societies? Join us in the discussion at Olympic College for "Future Flux" and help transport us to the ways that ceramic art and education will continue to matter."
