Event Description: Welcome to the first iteration of online classes at Pottery Northwest! Our summer session includes live series and on-demand classes. As these are virtual classes, you will need to have a computer, tablet or smartphone with audio and video capabilities and broadband internet access. All classes will take place on the Zoom platform.
We are offering four live series classes with Pottery Northwest instructors. The first classes of each series starts June 15 -19. We are also offering 3 on-demand classes with national teachers and one live workshop in July.
While anyone can take our classes and come away with new knowledge, in order to actively participate along with your instructor, you will need to set up a home studio space, complete with clay and basic pottery tools. Any of the clays we are selling online will be suitable for the classes we are offering. If a class requires any supplies other than a basic pottery toolkit, they will be listed in the class description. Work created with clay purchased from Pottery Northwest can be brought to the Pottery once we are able to re-open for bisque-ing, glazing and glaze firing.
We understand the barriers of entry to the arts and want to ensure everyone can participate in our online classes. If you are a person of color, come from an underrepresented community, or if you are facing any kind of financial barriers, you can take a free or discounted class. We will also provide clay and firing.
We’re breaking all our own rules and selling you clay so you can follow along with our online classes. We will also deliver!
